Why Use This Tool?
Are the dice rolls actually fair and random?
Yes. Each die uses your browser's random number generator to pick a value uniformly between 1 and the number of sides you selected, so every face has an equal chance of coming up on every roll, just like physical dice. There's no bias toward higher or lower numbers.
Can I use this instead of physical dice for board games?
Absolutely. This is a common substitute when you've lost a die, are playing remotely with friends, or just don't want dice rolling off the table. It supports the standard polyhedral dice set (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20) used in most tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, plus regular six-sided dice for classic board games.
Why does it show a total alongside individual results?
Many games and RPG rules require summing multiple dice — for example, rolling 2d6 for damage or 4d6 for an ability score. Showing both the individual die faces and the combined total saves you from doing the math yourself every time.
Is anything about my rolls saved or shared?
No. Rolls happen entirely in your browser and are not saved, logged, or transmitted anywhere. Refreshing the page clears the current results, so if you need a record of past rolls, note them down separately.
