Duplicate Line Remover

Paste a list or block of text and remove every duplicate line, keeping just the first occurrence of each — perfect for cleaning email lists, keyword lists or messy notes.

Paste text above and click "Remove Duplicates".

How to Use the Duplicate Line Remover

  1. Paste your list or text block, with one entry per line, into the box.
  2. Turn on "Case-insensitive matching" if "Email@site.com" and "email@site.com" should count as the same line.
  3. Turn on "Trim whitespace per line" so stray leading/trailing spaces don't create false duplicates.
  4. Click "Remove Duplicates" — the first occurrence of each unique line is kept and a count of removed duplicates is shown.
  5. Click "Copy" to copy the cleaned list.

Why Use This Tool?

Is my list uploaded anywhere?

No. Deduplication happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your list — whether it's customer emails, keywords, or internal notes — is never sent to a server, logged, or stored anywhere.

Why does it keep the first occurrence instead of the last?

Keeping the first occurrence preserves the original order of your list as much as possible, which matters when line order carries meaning — for example, a prioritized to-do list or a chronologically sorted export. If a line repeats further down, it's simply dropped and the count of removed duplicates is shown so you know exactly how much was cleaned up.

When should I use case-insensitive matching and trim whitespace?

Turn on case-insensitive matching when your data might contain the same value typed with different capitalization, such as email addresses or usernames pulled from different sources. Turn on "trim whitespace" when your list was copied from a spreadsheet or PDF, since invisible leading or trailing spaces can otherwise make identical-looking lines register as unique.

Who uses a duplicate line remover?

Marketers cleaning email or lead lists before an import, SEO specialists deduplicating keyword research exports, developers tidying up log files or data dumps, and students merging notes from multiple sources all rely on this tool to quickly strip out repeated lines without manually scanning hundreds of rows.
