Favicon Generator
Upload any logo or image and instantly generate favicon-ready PNG icons at every standard size — from 16×16 browser tabs to 512×512 app icons. Everything is resized locally in your browser.
How to Use the Favicon Generator
- Click "Select an Image" and choose a logo or picture — a square image works best.
- The tool automatically resizes it onto six canvases at standard favicon and app-icon sizes.
- Click "Download PNG" under any size to save that individual icon file.
- Reference the sizes you need in your site's HTML using
<link rel="icon" sizes="32x32" href="favicon-32.png">tags.
Why Use This Tool?
Is my logo uploaded to a server?
No. Your image is loaded directly into your browser's memory and resized using the HTML5 Canvas API. Nothing is ever sent to a server, so your logo, brand assets, or personal photo stay completely private on your own device.
Do I get a real .ico file?
This tool generates individual PNG icons at each standard size rather than a single legacy .ico container file. Modern browsers fully support PNG favicons declared with <link rel="icon" sizes="..." href="..."> tags, which is the current best practice recommended by the web standards community — you no longer need a multi-resolution .ico file for modern sites. If you specifically need a classic .ico for very old software, you can convert one of the PNGs using a dedicated .ico packaging tool.
Which sizes do I actually need?
16×16 and 32×32 cover browser tabs and bookmarks, 48×48 covers some older Windows use cases, 180×180 is Apple's recommended touch icon size for iOS home screens, 192×192 is Google's standard for Android home screen icons, and 512×512 is used for Progressive Web App splash screens and app store listings. Downloading all six covers virtually every modern platform.
Why does my icon look blurry at small sizes?
Small icons benefit from simple, bold designs with minimal fine detail — intricate logos can lose clarity when shrunk to 16×16 pixels. If your icon looks unclear, try starting with a simplified, high-contrast version of your logo before uploading.
