Habit Tracker

Add the habits you want to build, check off each day you complete them, and watch your current streak grow. Your habits and history are saved automatically in this browser.

How to Use the Habit Tracker

  1. Type a habit into the input box and click "Add Habit" (or press Enter).
  2. Each habit shows a row of 7 checkboxes for the current week (Monday through Sunday).
  3. Check off today's box each day you complete the habit, or click "Mark Today Done" as a shortcut.
  4. Your current streak — the number of consecutive days completed up to today — updates automatically next to each habit.
  5. Click the "×" button on a habit to remove it entirely, including its history.

Why Use This Tool?

Where is my habit data stored?

All habits and their completion history are saved using your browser's built-in localStorage, directly on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server or tied to an account — it's private to this specific browser on this specific device. This means your habits won't automatically appear if you switch to a different browser or computer.

Could I lose my habit history?

Yes, in certain situations. Clearing your browser's cache or site data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers will erase anything saved locally, including your habit streaks. If a long-running streak matters to you, consider taking an occasional screenshot or noting your progress elsewhere as a backup.

How is the "current streak" calculated?

The streak counts backward from today, day by day, as long as each day was marked complete. As soon as it finds a day that wasn't checked off, the streak stops counting there. This mirrors how most habit-tracking apps calculate momentum, rewarding consistent daily completion rather than an average over time.

Can I track more than one habit at a time?

Yes — add as many habits as you'd like to build at once, such as exercising, reading, drinking more water, or practicing an instrument. Each one gets its own row with an independent weekly checklist and streak count, so you can manage several goals from a single, simple screen.
