Image Border Adder

Add a clean, colored border or frame to any photo — with an optional rounded-corner effect. Adjust the width, color, and radius, preview it live, and download the framed image.

The image never leaves your device.

How to Use the Image Border Adder

  1. Click "Select an Image" and choose your photo.
  2. Adjust the border width slider and pick a color.
  3. Drag the corner radius slider if you want rounded corners instead of sharp ones.
  4. Watch the live preview and click "Download Result" when you're happy with it.

Why Use This Tool?

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your image is loaded and composited with the border entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. It's never sent to a server, stored, or shared — the whole process, from loading the file to generating the final framed picture, stays on your own device.

How does the rounded corner effect work?

When you set a corner radius above zero, the tool clips both the border and the photo to a rounded-rectangle shape using canvas path clipping, giving your image the soft, modern rounded-corner look popular on social media posts, app icons, and product thumbnails — instead of the traditional sharp rectangular frame.

Does the border change the image's original dimensions?

Yes — the final image is larger than your original by twice the border width in each direction (border added evenly on all four sides), since the frame is drawn around your existing photo rather than cropped into it. For example, a 20px border on a 1000×1000 image results in a 1040×1040 final image.

What's a good use for bordered images?

Borders are popular for polaroid-style social posts, product photography with a clean white frame, printable photo memories, and design mockups that need a defined edge against a page background. Combining a rounded radius with a soft pastel border color is a popular modern aesthetic for Instagram-style image grids.
