Why Use This Tool?
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is drawn onto an HTML5 canvas directly in your browser, and color sampling uses the canvas's built-in pixel data API. Nothing is ever sent to a server — your photo, design mockup, or screenshot stays entirely on your device from start to finish.
How accurate are the color values?
The values reflect the exact RGB pixel data at the point you clicked, as rendered by your browser. Keep in mind that if the source image has been compressed (like a JPEG), the colors at any single pixel may differ slightly from the "true" original color due to compression artifacts — for critical brand-color matching, use a high-quality PNG source when possible.
What is this tool useful for?
Designers matching a brand color from a logo file, developers grabbing a hex code from a mockup or screenshot, and anyone building a color palette inspired by a photograph all benefit from a fast, precise, in-browser picker. The five-color history makes it easy to compare several sampled shades side by side before deciding which to use.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes — tapping the image on a touchscreen works the same as clicking with a mouse. The canvas scales to fit your screen while still sampling from the original full-resolution image data.
