Why Use This Tool?

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The entire watermarking process — loading your image, drawing the text overlay, and exporting the final file — happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photo is never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone else, which matters if you're watermarking client work, portfolio pieces, or personal photos before sharing them publicly.

Why add a watermark to my images?

Photographers, designers and content creators add watermarks to discourage unauthorized use, promote their brand or handle when images are shared or reposted, and clearly mark preview or draft versions before a final sale or delivery. A visible, semi-transparent watermark is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your work online.

Can I control how visible the watermark is?

Yes. The opacity slider lets you dial the watermark from barely-there (5%) to fully solid (100%), and the font size slider scales it from small, unobtrusive text to a bold, impossible-to-crop-out stamp. Combined with the 9-point position grid, you have full control over exactly how prominent the mark is.

Does this reduce image quality?

No — aside from the watermark text itself, your original image data is preserved. The result is exported as a PNG so no extra lossy compression is applied on top of your source photo.
