LinkedIn Post Formatter

LinkedIn's editor doesn't support real bold or italic text — this tool converts your selected text into look-alike Unicode characters so your post still stands out with bold, italic and bullet-point styling.

Select part of your text above (or place the cursor on a line for Bullet), then click a button. The formatted result also appears below.

Your formatted post will mirror the text box above.

How to Use the LinkedIn Post Formatter

  1. Type or paste your post draft into the text box.
  2. Highlight a word or phrase, then click "Bold" or "Italic" to convert it to matching Unicode characters.
  3. Click on any line and press "Bullet Line" to prefix it with a "•" bullet point.
  4. Click "Copy Formatted Post" and paste the result directly into a new LinkedIn post.

Why Use This Tool?

Why can't I just use LinkedIn's normal bold button?

LinkedIn's post composer has no built-in rich-text formatting — no bold, italic or bullet button exists in the standard post editor. The workaround creators use is Unicode "Mathematical Alphanumeric" characters that look bold or italic but are technically distinct letters, which LinkedIn (and most platforms) render and copy-paste correctly as visual styling.

Will this formatting show up correctly for everyone?

These Unicode characters render correctly in the vast majority of modern devices, browsers and the LinkedIn mobile app, since they're standard Unicode code points rather than platform-specific markup. Very old devices or unusual fonts may occasionally render them slightly differently, but support is broad and reliable in practice.

Does bold/italic formatting work on numbers too?

Yes — the bold and italic character maps cover both uppercase and lowercase letters (A-Z, a-z) as well as digits (0-9), so headlines, stats and mixed-case phrases all convert correctly.

Is my post text stored anywhere?

No. All formatting happens instantly in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored, and no signup is required. This tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation.
