Why Use This Tool?

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your photo is loaded and processed entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API — it is cropped and resized locally and is never transmitted to a server. This is especially reassuring given how sensitive identification photos can feel; nothing you upload here is ever stored, logged, or seen by anyone else.

Does this guarantee my photo will be accepted for my passport application?

This tool handles pixel-accurate sizing and center-cropping to the standard aspect ratio and resolution for the preset you choose — it does not verify official compliance rules such as background color, lighting, head positioning, facial expression, or glasses restrictions. Passport and visa authorities have strict, country-specific requirements beyond just dimensions, so always double-check your final photo against the official guidelines published by your passport office or embassy before submitting it.

How does the center-crop work?

The tool calculates the target aspect ratio for your chosen preset, then crops the largest possible region from the center of your uploaded photo that matches that ratio, before scaling it to the exact required pixel dimensions. For the best result, make sure your subject is roughly centered and reasonably close-up in the original photo before uploading.

What sizes are supported?

We include presets for the US and India (2×2 inches at 1200×1200 px), the UK and Schengen area (35×45 mm at roughly 413×531 px), and a generic 35×45 mm aspect ratio used by many other countries. If your specific country needs a different size, the generic preset gives you a solid starting aspect ratio to adapt.
