Why Use This Tool?

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Text extraction runs entirely in your browser using the open-source PDF.js library. Your document never leaves your device, which matters when handling resumes, contracts or other private files.

Will this work on scanned PDFs?

This tool extracts text that's already embedded in the PDF as selectable characters. Scanned documents that are just images of text (with no OCR layer) won't produce extractable text, since there's no underlying text data to read.

Does formatting get preserved?

Basic line and paragraph breaks are preserved as best as possible, but complex layouts like multi-column text or tables may not extract in perfect reading order, since PDF text positions individual characters rather than structured paragraphs.

What can I do with the extracted text?

Copy it into a document, search it for keywords, paste it into an editor, or download it as a plain .txt file for further processing anywhere you like.
