Profile Picture Resizer
Upload a photo, pick the platform you're posting to, and preview exactly how it will look cropped into a circle before downloading a perfectly-sized square image.
How to Use the Profile Picture Resizer
- Click "Select a Photo" and choose the image you want to use.
- Pick the platform preset — the circular preview updates instantly to show how a round profile photo will look.
- Switch presets any time to compare sizes across platforms.
- Click "Download Square PNG" to save an image resized to that platform's exact recommended pixel dimensions, ready to upload.
Why Use This Tool?
Why is the download square instead of circular?
Every major platform actually stores and lets you re-crop a square profile photo upload, then displays it inside a circular mask in its own interface. Downloading a square PNG at the platform's recommended pixel size gives you a file that uploads cleanly and lets that platform's own cropping tool position it correctly — the circular preview here is just to help you judge framing before you upload.
Why do the recommended sizes differ across platforms?
Display sizes and compression differ by platform: Instagram and Facebook display relatively small profile circles in-feed, while LinkedIn and YouTube display larger versions in some views, so their recommended source sizes are bigger to stay sharp. Uploading close to the recommended size avoids both blurry upscaling and unnecessarily large file sizes.
Will the resizer crop off part of my photo?
The circular preview crops your photo to a centered square before rounding it, so if your subject isn't centered you may want to crop it first using this site's Image Cropper. The downloadable square PNG uses the same centered-square crop, resized to the exact preset dimensions.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything — the preview and the final resized file — is generated locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo is never transmitted to a server. This tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X or YouTube.
