Record a quick voice memo, practice take, or podcast snippet using your microphone. Recording happens entirely inside your browser — nothing is uploaded or transmitted anywhere unless you choose to download the file yourself.
How to Use the Voice Recorder
- Click "Start Recording" and allow microphone access when your browser prompts you.
- Speak — the timer counts up while recording is active.
- Click "Stop" when you're finished.
- Play back the recording, then click "Download Recording" to save it as a file, or "Record Again" to start a new take.
Why Use This Tool?
Is my voice recording uploaded to a server?
No. Recording is handled entirely by your browser's built-in MediaRecorder API. Audio data is captured and assembled locally into a file in your browser's memory — it is never sent to us or any third party. The recording only leaves your device if you explicitly click "Download Recording," which saves it directly to your own computer or phone.
What if I deny microphone permission?
If you deny the microphone prompt, or your browser/OS blocks microphone access, the tool displays a clear message explaining that microphone access is needed and won't silently fail. You can re-enable the permission anytime from your browser's site settings and try again.
What file format is the recording saved in?
Recordings are saved as WebM audio files, a widely supported open format that plays in most modern browsers and media players. If you need a different format like MP3 for a specific app, you can convert the downloaded file with a dedicated audio converter afterward.
Can I record multiple takes?
Yes — click "Record Again" after finishing a take to discard the current recording and start fresh. There's no limit to how many times you can re-record; each new take simply replaces the previous one in your browser until you download the one you want to keep.
